Elf's Big Post of Doom - Life update, fandom and more

* So I know it has been forever since I've posted much beyond fic here. I rarely post more than once every few months now, but I am still here and I do read through my flists here and at LJ, but I spend more of my time at Tumblr. If you have one, and would like to follow me there, I'm elfflame there, too. I am also at Polyvore as elfflame, if anyone has an account there. I haven't been doing as much there recently, but I still glance in there from time to time and get bursts of creativity there. I love it.

* Family is doing well. Mom seems happy in the new place, and the kids love having my parents right there. Niece is always running down to spend time with her, and now that nephew is more mobile, he's doing so, too. Dad went on a ski trip about a month ago and decided to pretend to be a stunt skiier and did a 360 off an icy mogul on the slope and dislocated his shoulder. The prognosis from the doctor is that it is healing, but he did break it a little as well. They're muddling along, though it's a great deal harder now that he only has one arm to use. At least sis and brother-in-law are right there.

* Work! I have been working. I was at the very end of my rope, and thinking I would have to do some things I really wasn't looking forward to when my temp place finally called with a job. I am now working for a company in Eastlake, just south of the University Bridge, and the job I was initially doing was right up my alley. Then someone in the department decided to retire, so they felt me out about doing that job, so now I have a definite permanent job. We just have to wait for my contract with the temp place to be up before they hire me on permanent. Co-workers are great. Lots of great people to talk to. And the job itself is pretty brainless, so that's fine. Means I can think of other things while I work. Like stories. The scary part of the job is coming up in about two weeks, when we send out a mass mailing. I get to scan in and update the department on what we've gotten back. But currently we're in the off time, so I've been able to do the other job, which has been nice.

* One of the co-workers brought in her new laptop last week to show me Scrivener. I knew of it from all the jabber on the NaNoWriMo boards about it, but I'd never tried it myself, because I figured I couldn't afford it. Turns out it's $40, which is definitely doable, and there are some major selling qualities... So I downloaded it Friday night, and spent a good portion of yesterday playing with it and putting in info for my Nano from 2009, which was the first original Nano I've done. The story has a few major flaws, so I'm going to use the original more as an outline and guide of where to take the new one. Still not finished inputting everything for it into the program, but I have plans to set up a bunch more. But my plan is to play with it on the weekends (you get 30 non-consecutive days free, a major selling point on its own) until I get offered perm at my job, then buy it.

* Speaking of Nano, I still haven't finished my Nano for this last year. I'm well over 60k now, and I "won," so it's mostly just been trying to get myself to finish it. Still love it, though. And I am getting toward the end. I think I have 10-15k left at least... That's the next project that gets put into Scrivener.

* And one more NaNo note...my previous Nano, the second set of H/D fairy tales, is incomplete here on IJ, and still unedited. Not sure if I want to finish posting the rest at this late date, unless I'm specifically asked. So we'll see. I've been working on editing my NaNos with Wolfish Cat, and we just finished the first set of H/D fairy tales, so next comes the Sultan's Slave. :) Looking forward to that one.

* Cats are still around, though the girl seems to want to be hurt, because she keeps waking me very early in the morning. Anyone have advice on stopping that, because the lack of sleep is really starting to wear on me. Boy is slowing down, which worries me, but he hasn't had one of his attacks in years. Knock on wood that he won't.

* TV: Still watching a lot of tv. Mad Men, Grimm, and Castle are my most-favorite these days. Still haven't caught up with Supernatural. And watch way too much reality tv. Would really like that trend to go away. I think unless something great happens on Revolution soon, I'll stop watching that one. Just...nothing there. It's too bad, too. And Defiance isn't a whole lot better. The alien Malfoy family is...yeah... Looking forward to seeing White Collar and Warehouse 13 again. And I know that Haven was renewed, too, though that probably won't pop up for a few more months. Getting towards the end of Season 3 of Glee with Foodie. Enjoyed Matt Bomer, and loved Unique...but then I loved Alex on the Glee Project (I did say I watched a lot of reality TV, right?), so it was great to see him again. He and Damion were my top two, and I couldn't stand the other two. Foodie and I generally watch two episodes of whichever show and a movie, but with Doctor Who on right now, we've been watching that instead and rounding out the evening with some Red Dwarf. It's been great fun rewatching the show. More so because she's never gotten to see them in order like this before. :) Reminds me of the 90s when I got to see it at Norwescon...

* Future plans: hearing possible whispers of Lubricus, which I would absolutely adore going to if it happens, but I'm nowhere in the loop on that one, and I don't know if I'll be in the middle of a mailing when it happens, so I might not be able to get the time off. I'm also hoping to go back to Norwescon, given that I haven't been to one since the late 90s. I miss it. It would be fun to actually go to panels, and meet some of the locals I know from LJ. :)

* Genealogy is going well... I had another distant cousin contact me, this one from one of the skimpy branches of my family tree, so that made me very happy. I'm looking forward to more contact with her. As of this moment, my family tree file has more than 4600 individuals in it, most of whom were hand-entered by me. I've been being more diligent about recording where information came from, and it's all starting to really pull together. I love doing it, I just hate my brick walls... Particularly the German Jewish contingent. Every time I start to look into that branch, I just get very depressed. I'm lucky. My grandfather's father got them out of Germany in 33, but there were some extended family members of his wife's family who might not have been so lucky. If anyone is interested in reading more, or would like help with their own family tree, just let me know. I love talking about this stuff, and helping others get set up.

* Kindle: I've been reading more. Still mostly fanfiction, but slowly leaking into original works I've been able to find here and there, and the occasional actual book, but I prefer my Kindle because it's small and easy to use, and I don't have to deal with heavy books in my bag, or how badly I'm battering paperbacks. I did find myself a toy that helped me to find more fanfic (and original fic), if anyone is interested: Fan Fiction Downloader. It only helps with certain sites, but one of them is FF.net/Fictionpress, so between those and AO3, there's a ton of fic to read. I think the next thing I'll likely do with it is either connect to the library or buy myself a copy of Hunger Games. I've still not read it, and I really need to. That series and the Percy Jackson books are at the top of my list. Not sure what I'll read beyond that. Any suggestions, folks?

And that's all, though I'll probably do that AO3 meme that's been floating around. Since I didn't do it at year-end this past year.

NaNo Drabble: Leaving Home - G

So, for my NaNoWriMo this past year, I did another original piece, and so I didn't post it here because publishers generally don't like that. But I just got inspired to do a drabble (and a picture on Polyvore), so I thought I'd post that, so you could get a tiny glimpse of my world.

Gabriel (Bothwick) is in his very early twenties, the son of an Earl who's recently made a bit of a mess of his politics, so his mother is sending him on a trip with his fiancee, Priscilla Francis and their chaperone is a man who was his tutor before going off to school, Abdel Tinely.

This piece takes place shortly before my story begins.

Leaving home is a hard thing to do )

Election & Nanowrimo

Despite everything, I really was worried Romney would win, but he did not, thank god. I'm so relieved, it left me crying when I saw Obama's victory tweet.

But Washington's election was huge this year, too. Governor (still to be decided, but currently Dem winning), Senator & Congressmen stayed about the same, but then we had a ton of ballot issues. Some of these things (including the Governor above) are too close to call right now, and we do an all mail-in ballot here in Washington, so it may be some time before they're determined.

* Marriage Equality Passed.
* Marijuana Legalization Passed (and won't that be interesting to see how that works out...?).
* Charter Schools is neck and neck. I personally want this as far from my state as it can get. The Seattle school system sucks, but taking money away from it for schools that won't help inner city kids will not help.

So I'm holding my breath on the Governor and the Charter schools bill, but other than that, it has been a very good night.

Got 1800+ words today. But I'm very behind on posts, so I'll just start where I am, I think. Currently at 14364, but very happy with where I'm going. Have a whole little slang dictionary I've been writing up as I go to reference when I need to reuse words.

Latest favorite quote: They settled on either side of the double bed in the room, and Gabriel found his thoughts turning to unpleasant thoughts which made his stomach churn. He was so distracted that he half jumped from his skin when Ethan spoke.

"I didn't mean to upset you tonight. I just…find myself curious. I'm sure I'd never have pulled off that getup well at all. You looked…perfect," he said softly.

Gabriel looked over Ethan, really letting himself look for the first time since they'd met. Aside from Ethan's swathy skin and rough appearance, the only thing he could see that might work against Ethan trying the same were his shoulders. "I don't know…the right blouse, and I'm sure you could manage. With a proper clean-up, that is."

Ethan snorted, then shook his head. "No, thank you," he said. "I don't fancy being a doxie."

Gabriel felt his cheeks heat. "Is that what you thought I was? A doxie?"

Alarmed, Ethan shook his head. "What? No, I just meant...well, that's what I would look like, if I tried."

Gabriel looked away. Everything felt all jumbled together right now. Why did Tinely have to insist Ethan come with them, anyway? It was too confusing. And annoying.

Nano Day 3

First Line: She nodded, patting his hand.

Last Line: "Shouldn't we already be there by now?" he asked Tinely.

Favorite Line: For the first time since leaving England, he felt the excitement he'd felt when first planning this trip.

Word Count: 7949

So far, so good. Still over 2k a day, which makes me very happy. I'm hoping to get to ten by tomorrow, if not better. Wish me luck!

Nano Day 2

Wordcount: 5471

First Sentence: Before Gabriel could tug it free, there was a hand on his arm.

Last Sentence: Let alone…that I would be able to explain it. (that one looks very odd out of context...probably not a good thing.)

Favorite Sentence: It feels rather like I imagine riding in a cloud would feel: soft and quiet, unlike a train which is always so loud.

Nano Update + Fic translation

So [info]tahy offered to translate my fic Giving Ground (Harry/Draco, NC-17) into Russian. So for those interested (and able to read Russian), here's the link.

Also, [info]kabal42 stole this from Copperbadge (aka [info]sams_cafe over here in IJ land), and I love the idea, so I think I'll do this, too.

Yesterday's wordcount: 3232

First Line: The crowds surrounding the AS Harmony were loud, and the party atmosphere was almost too much for Gabriel to take.

Last Line: He stood to find his bag, which was nestled between his trunk and Priscilla's, and tugged to try to get it down, but the strap appeared to be caught on something.

Favorite Line: Tinely's eyes were growing colder as he spoke, and usually Gabriel was smart enough not to know when to push, but this had been a very trying day, and he had been hoping for at least some respite on this initial leg of their journey, only to find he was stuck in this ridiculous garb, and now he had to deal with a buffoon who probably had less than two pennies to his name, and he refused to stand for it any longer.

Update on Me and NaNoWriMo

I know I've been pretty silent this year. Here's what's been going on.

* Still no job, but I've been slowly selling off my Magic cards, which has helped somewhat.

* Parents moved in with my sister and her family into a huge place in Eastern Seattle right next to the Arboretum in Montlake, if you know the Seattle Area. It's a gorgeous house. Mom and dad have a nice little downstairs apartment that's about the size of their old house's main floor, and tons of storage space for everyone, so they're not really missing the downstairs at all. Even better, Mom has an elevator so she no longer has to deal with stairs, which was becoming an increasingly difficult issue, so we're all glad of that. Sis is now working on getting her to stop driving, as the MS is slowly getting worse, and it's taking her longer and longer to get to the car. We've started bi-weekly dinners, which has been nice. More time with all of them, which I am bad about, so it's a perfect excuse to see them all and stay updated. Sis and the family will be heading down to brother-in-law's family for Thanksgiving, which is their norm, so I'm going to help mom and dad with thanksgiving in the main house, and I'm going to try to make mashed potatoes in sis's crock pot. Wish me luck...

* Also in family news, my grandmother passed away this summer. She was my last living grandparent, and I will miss her, but I was never as close to her as I was to my other grandmother who died in 2010. We had a lovely service at their church in Bellevue, and her pastor, who was just about to retire, was able to do the service. It ended up being the last she did at the church, so it made it doubly special. I did a slideshow of pictures of grandma's life, which was wonderful, and everyone wanted copies, so I'm doing slideshows of all the grandparents for the family for Christmas. Except that every time I see the shots of my grandfather who died in 91, I start crying. Makes it hard to go through the photos. But I'm getting there.

* I am not a business person, and don't know how to sell myself, so despite posting some signs, I have yet to get a bite on my genealogy business. If anyone has some extra money laying around, and are curious about their family history, I'd certainly love to help. Comment below, and we can talk. :)

* I have, however, gotten a couple of nibbles from the folks in my building about cat-sitting. For those who don't know, I have two cats, and have lived with cats since my junior year of high school. I love them. It's one reason we moved into the building, that it was cat friendly. Apparently the manager has been watching people's cats (and a few other small animals) for free, but it's driving her up the wall, especially with how picky some people are, so she asked me to help, then suggested I offer a service. Some people are still taking advantage of her and saying they can't pay, but...well, at least this way, she's got someone to shove them at now. So I have one job over the Thanksgiving week watching two cats who are very sweet (well, once's sweet and one's feral, so doesn't get on with anyone but her owner), and then another around Christmas. Feeling pretty good about all this. Not a *ton* of money, but might be enough to round out to my rent at the end of the month, especially if I sell off a few more cards.

* The current TV season has been a bit depressing. No more Eureka, Fringe is ending, way too many reality tv shows, and the one hope I had for the season, Revolution, is kind of a bust... Sci Fi has one show I might try, but that doesn't start until next year. And...Elementary is not working for me. So...it's all left me kind of meh. And then, of course, we have Who (Gaaah!), Downton (*sobs*), and Misfits (not sure about that season opener...), which have at least been more interesting than the American TV shows this season. Oh, and Merlin, which is also as depressing...It's frankly been hard to watch, though Mordred is pretty, at least.

* On the other hand, I have been watching Buffy season 4 (my favorite) and Angel season 1 with Foodie, which has been great fun. So many great episodes this season...we just watched Hush last week. All time best ever. I can't wait to see what she thinks when Oz returns...Or what she'll think of Lorne, but I guess he doesn't show until next season. I've definitely missed him in this one. I think it could have used his charm.

* And in other TV news...I've been watching Supernatural. I'm still not *hooked* hooked, but I am enjoying it. My description to others is that it feels sort of like the Hardy Boys to Buffy's Nancy Drew. :) And I came across a comment on Tumblr that I quite agree with today: "It's nothing like I expected, but exactly as described." Heh.

* Oh, yes, and Nano. I'm doing another original piece this year, so it's not been posted anywhere online. I wouldn't mind feedback, though, if people are interested. I've got two people I'm emailing the story as I go, section by section. The story is a Steampunk world adventure using archetypes I'm familiar with, which is to say, based on favorite characters/RP characters. There's more to it than that, of course. If you're not sure, but curious, my profile is here, and I've posted a snippet and blurb about the story.

* Fanfic is now on the back burner, because life is just too stressful at the moment. I stopped at D_D sometime earlier this year, but I do have a story I'm about to send in for K_K this year, and I also have a story for the Lucius Big Bang that should be going up sometime this month, so keep your eyes out for those. Otherwise, I'm trying to focus on job-hunting and original writing, so...wish me luck.

State of the Elf

Been forever since I used that header, so I figured it was more than about time...

Need to do an update of my 100 in 1001 days list.  It's been just over a year, and I've managed some things, and failed at others.  Also thinking of doing a detailed list of the new movies I watched in the last year...  Also had thoughts about doing mini-game reviews and/or more Seattle entries, too, if there's any interest for either?  What do folks think?

Writing--Haven't been doing enough, but I have some fun ideas, including another HP memory loss fic, and the Merlin/Arthur Sword in the Stone fic, now complete with Season 2 spoilers, I think.  I also need to start editing my Nano Story...It's going to require a major rewrite, but I am looking forward to that now that I have enough paper to print it all out.  More than 80 pages worth, even squashed a bit.  And I have been keeping up with my D_Ds, and I have an idea chosen for my D_D for next month.  Should be fun to see what people come up with.  It's going to be a great anniversary.

Merlin news--Season three has been approved in the UK, so I'm looking forward to that, and Sy Fy has picked up the series, starting with Season 1.  So now most folks should be able to catch it, if they haven't already.  Wondering if NBC will be picking up season 2 this summer or not.

I've also been watching more British TV.  Demons, which is...okay, but not great.  And Law and Order: UK, which I'm already quite addicted to.  I've watched about 75-80% of the total American shows, if you include them all.  I doubt I've missed more than a small handful of the original series itself.  It's made watching the UK show quite interesting.  I love Jamie Bamber and Freema Agyeman in it, and I'm enjoying the other actors as well.  I will say I had a bit of trouble getting used to the idea of CPS meaning something other than Child Protective Services, but I love seeing the differences between the American and the British System of Justice.

Been spending too much time on my FB playing games, still playing a number of households in Sims 2, and I also got myself a couple of new games last week. King's Bounty: the Legacy, which is based on the original game that became Heroes of Might and Magic, which is okay, but a bit sluggish; and Style Savvy, which is incredibly addicting, and I have played every night since I got it. :) I highly recommend it if you like fashion games.  I have also had vague thoughts that it might be fun to play a Star Wars Universe RPG, but I don't like online RPG, so I'm not sure that there's anything that will appeal.  I don't suppose anyone out there has played any?

Also did a major upgrade of my living room.  Our movies were getting harder and harder to find because we have so many DVDs, so I resorted them, and we added a bookshelf from my sister for Christmas which I've turned into my reference library.  Took a bit of rearranging to get it close to my desk, but I like the way things turned out.  I feel at least a little bit more in control.  Able to find things that were scattered all over the place before.  It's nice.

So how is everyone else out there?

Fic year in review 2009

fic stats for the year )

fic meme questions )

Wrote two fest fics this season, if people are interested in guessing, and I would be willing to write fics for winners if they are guessed:
One for [info]daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas.
And one for Camelot Solstice.

And while I'm at it, happy new year everyone! :)

Good things post

So that I can get out of the snarky attitude that suddenly hit about an hour ago...

1) Another NaNo down, with the epilogue left to go.

2) [info]wolfish_cat should be back this week. *clings to her*

3) Another season of Merlin is likely.

4) 1/2 of the 2 most stressful holidays is dealt with.

5) All my writing for the next month is done!
5.1) Firefox tabs all cleared away for a new gathering of tabs starting the first
5.2) Reading list -
* HD_Holidays
* Snapelyholidays
* [info]daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas
* [info]lupin_snape's Snupin Santa
* Camelot Solstice
* Harry_Holidays
* HP_Yule_Balls
(there are probably more as well, but OMG, isn't that enough?)

[No Subject]

Let's see--

1000 words of NaNo today. I'm at least a day behind as far as wordcount goes. Very frustrating. But I am getting there.

Gaming machine attacked by toxic malware today, so I lost at least an hours worth of time, and had a bit of a fit trying to get the bloody thing *off* my computer. *sighs* Gone, now, but really not a happy thing.

For those of you who have followed my family issues with my mother's side of the family--good thanksgiving this year. There were only eight of us total, so it was nice and quiet, which means no huge blowups.

Nov. 8th, 2009

So, still here.  Sorry to those who I haven't been able to talk with.  Way too much going on, trying to get my NaNo written, but I'm getting somewhere.

Check this out:

14276 / 50000 words. 29% done!

Still have to finish off my D_D, but so far, so good. :)

Hope everyone out there is doing well.

NaNo Day one

Is officially a success, though I was hoping to get more done. But given how much I did today over all, I'd say I'm doing pretty good.

Word count: 2219

So about 500 words ahead of target for 50k by November 30th.

Also managed to do Recs, the Prophet, edit my K_K and sent that off to the Mods, and got another 250 done on November's D_D. Not to mention brunch with my folks, and watching the latest episode of Merlin with [info]kabal42.

Overall, a good day, so I'm feeling pretty confident. *crosses fingers*

And one more number:
[info]rpwrimo: 1615
From three threads. Not bad. :) At that rate, I'll be at 50k there at the end of the month, too.

Request for source help

My NaNo this year takes place in New York City.  Now, I've only visited once, but there are some resources online I can use.  Still, it would be nice to have a go-to person for information that might not be easily found.  I doubt I'll be asking too often, but I might like someone who knows the city well to read the story afterwards and help punch things up a little to make it more believable as far as place feeling.

Is there anyone out there who lives/used to live in NYC who would be interested in helping that way?

The story itself is an Arthurian modern-day mystery story, with a dash of slash and a bit of discussion of past-lives and how they work.

Oct. 17th, 2009

NaNoWriMo update!

So, this year, I am planning something different. But I'm so addicted to the automatic feedback I've gotten in the past from my other Nano attempts, that I have decided to create a separate locked journal just for Nano.

I haven't made it yet, because I wanted to gauge the interest.

The story I'm writing this year is Arthurian, and set in modern-day, with Morgana as the main character. Except that she won't be a she, but a he. There will be a slashy romance (it will pretty much be obvious from the get-go, but I'll keep mum for now), and a few sex scenes, though probably not much above an R rating, if that.

This will not be Merlin-verse, but my own take on the characters, but I think those interested in Merlin or Arthurian stories (particularly slashy ones) might enjoy it.

The only two requests I have of those who ask to friend this journal are as follows:
1 - Do not copy and paste or save the story anywhere on the net, even if the place you do so is locked only to you. I intend to try to get this published in the end, and if it is posted anywhere, I won't be able to do so.
2 - I ask that you put your critical hats on. This doesn't mean that you can't say "wow, great chapter," but that if you do see any flaws, you point them out. Particularly when it comes to the overall flow of the story. No, I'm not asking that every comment you make be of that sort, just that you read it with a critical eye to giving feedback, if anything relevant pops up. I certainly don't mind having people there just to read. :)

So...are there people interested? If so, let me know here, and when I've made the journal, I will nudge you with it. :)

Jul. 25th, 2009

Good bye, job

So, as of 5 PM yesterday, I am now officially unemployed.  My own doing, and I'm glad I did it.  I know it was the right choice.  I loved the people there, but the job was only getting more and more stressful.

I spent a lot of time yesterday saying good bye to everyone.  Got lots of hugs and lots of presents, and plenty of joking "how dare you"s from folks.  The thing is?  I wasn't there that long.  I started back in July of 07, but it took me until February of 08 (with a few-months-break in between there) to become an official employee.  But I've made more friends there than I ever have any place else I've ever worked.  I'll miss seeing them every day, and talking to them.  It made the day quite bittersweet.

Ended up having a plant, a balloon, and three bags to take home (one my usual bag I carry with me every day, but still...).  Luckily I'd made plans with [info]turtle_avenger last night, so she picked me up, and we went to Red Robin's for supper, then went to see a girlyflick, "The Ugly Truth." :D  I spent a lot of time covering my face in embarrassment for the characters, but it was fun and light and a perfect way to end the day.

Now I just have to remind myself to do my own work every day.  I have a number of long-neglected chores to get to, and two big fics to write, not to mention the usual D_Ds and plotting for my Nano this year...Maybe even a Merlin fic or two.  So I will still be busy, but easier to get to--I think. :)  I'm going to force myself to get out of the house at least every other day, just for my own health, because I tend to be disinclined to move, which is very not good for me... :P

Bought myself a new pasta maker--for cooking in the microwave.  Haven't tested it yet, but here's hoping.  Helps that I'll only be making it for myself.  Means that there won't be a lot of boilover to deal with. Wish me luck!

Also--saw HBP a week ago Friday.  Still getting my thoughts together about it.  I'll be seeing it again Monday, so I'll probably post a proper review then. :)

Sep. 20th, 2008

To Do before 11/1

I have a great idea for NaNo this year, but first I have several stories I have to write, and if any of them aren't mostly finished or completely so by then, then I'm not going to let myself. Because work + NaNo = no other time for anything.

Fic list:
October D_D (H/D, Plugs)
Kit's Birthday
November D_D (Genderplay)
Snapely Holidays

Ceria's Birthday
December D_D

Non-HP Writing...

This is in regards to the doll I made for the Mary-Sue meme, which can be found here.

And I quote from the entry:
A long time ago, when I was in tenth grade, I created my first story idea.  Fantasy, of course, but with a bunch of female characters instead of the ton of male characters.  It was horribly derivative, but there was one character that just called out to me.  Her name was Flame, and she was the head of the Guild of Thieves in the first town the adventurers stopped in.  She's followed me ever since.
The icon attatched to this post is closer to Flame's actual looks.  I took away the silly barrettes, and gave her patch an emerald.  The hair's still too long, though.
The following bits are straight from that story.  They are the best bits I found when reading through the piece, and when I say these are the best bits, believe me when I tell you you don't want to see what I discarded as bad.  These are unedited, but for minor spelling, punctuation, and similar problems.  Flame seems to have major mood swings, and her beau, Vanden, is quite literally psycho in one scene.  If I were to write a fic like this nowadays, I'd be horribly ashamed.  Well, live and learn.

Names you need to know while reading these... )

Flame meets the questers )

Flame and the leader of the group talk )

Flame and Vanden have a second 'discussion' )

Erm...Yeah.  I dare you to tell me it doesn't suck.  There's more, but I won't post it unless people really want to see it.
