Did this in October, but I added a bunch
Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. Etc. Then write your reaction to each pairing (or a snippet of a hypothetical fic featuring each pairing).
Decided to go with snippets this time. And I didn't include real people in this list. Just the people I use in RP as the charcter I use them for.
( micro-ficlets behind the cut, with lots of HP, a bit of QAF, Firefly, Stargate, Beatles, and many others included, some mention of character death )

I haven't been interested in these in ages, but I quite like this one:
What are your five favorite canonical friendships?
Harry Potter
- Sirius, Remus and James. I'd add Peter, but JK totally screwed him over to make sure that no one would ever like him.
- Severus and Lily. Aaaaaw... :D
- Harry and Neville, though more movie-canon than book-canon. I love that Neville actually gets to help him and talk to him in the movies.
- Severus and Lucius, even though it's never explicitly stated.
- Albus and Gellert. A fascinating idea. I can't wait to see what the fans do with it. :D
Star Trek - Geordi and Data. Not just symbiotic because Geordi was an engineer, but also honestly good friends. I always loved their jaunts on the holodeck.
- Ben and Dax. I have a huge soft spot for Dax, and I always loved this. How it grew from a male/male friendship to a male/female friendship with only one hint of romance the entire time Jadzia was host.
- Tom and Harry. These two were so fun together... Little kids on a big ship. :D
- Kathryn and Tuvok. Everyone needs a Vulcan friend. To tell them when they're being an idiot
- Kirk and Spock. Oh, all right, yes. It's one of the things I hope this new version gets right. They were each others' support, and I want them to show it, damn it!
Others - Sam and Al, Quantum Leap. They were really so great together...
- Knight and Schanke, Forever Knight. Ditto. I can't express the number of times Schanke's stupid antics and Nick's reaction made me grin. And yet, they were still always there for each other.
- Buffy and Willow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Only the best of friends can get away with calling each other such horrid things and smile about it while they're doing it. "Quitter." "Whiner." "Bailer." "Harpy." "Witch." "Bad seed..."
- Cutter and Skywise, Elfquest. God, I can't believe this wasn't at the top of my list. These two are so perfect together. Cutter the brawn and Skywise the brain. They compliment each other so well...
- Brian and Michael, Queer as Folk. I know some prefer the romance between them, but if it had ever happened? It would have destroyed everything between them. They were never meant to be anything more than friends. Though they were excellent at that. They understood each other almost better than anyone else. And put up with each other more than most of the others in their lives did.

What 5 major events on any of your shows caused you to become enraged?
Chakotay/Seven, Voyager. Okay, I know tptb didn't want him with Janeway, but why? Why did they feel they had to do this? At least with the Doctor, there was some interesting interactions. Just made me want to tear my hair out.
Dax's death, DS9. Dax was, is, and probably always will be my favorite Star Trek character. It doesn't hurt that I'm absolutely fascinated by the Trill, either. But about halfway through the run of the series, they started selling Dax short. Oh, she wasn't interested in dating Trill... Oh, she didn't want a Trill ceremony... They practically forgot the Trill even existed. Now, I understand that they had a running storyline, but it seems to me that was just sloppy plotting on the writers' parts. By the time she decided to leave, I couldn't particularly blame her. Didn't make watching her death any easier, though.
Serena's departure, Law & Order. WTF? "Is this because I'm gay?" Where did that come from? No groundwork, no nothing. At least, not that I noticed. What about the fact that she was constantly butting heads with him, or that (if I recall correctly) she'd screwed up in the case that epsiode? Or better yet, why not let her keep her diginty and walk away because she'd had enough of that arsehole, and had decided to become a public defender? For gays? :D Anything but what they did. Yeesh.
The final episode of Quantum Leap. He never found home.... WTF? How is that a good ending? That sucks! There's only one other series ending that upsets me more....
Forever Knight series finale. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Why? No, no, no, no! I know they were trying to make sure they wouldn't have to do more, but anything would have been better. ANYTHING. I don't care if she would have made a sucky vampire. FK is one of the first fandoms I read heavily in, and some of the best ones I read were crossovers between it and QL, fixing both endings. I also read some of the Virtual season 4 that some of the fans did. I would have liked to have seen that.

Name five fannish characters you would trade lives with.
In thinking of who I would list, I come up with two thoughts. One is that this can't be a favorite character thing necessarily, because most if not all of my favorite characters are heavily angsty. Draco will have a bad end; ditto Severus, plus his unhappy life; and look at Remus, Willow and Jadzia... I'm just drawn to angst. The other is that when I do narrow it down, they all seem to generally end up being the same character type: a strong, confident woman. Jadzia, B'Elanna, Janeway, Zoe... All generally the same character. So, those two codacils in mind, here goes nothing...
- Jadzia Dax (DS9) - Strong, confident, intelligent... I would give anything to have the amount of confidence she had in her pinky finger.
- Zoe Warren (Firefly) - Again, strong and confident, and never without a smile.
- B'Elanna Torres (Voyager) - The attitude, the intelligence. I loved her from the first episode.
- Nightfall (Elfquest) - Here's one of the few who actually gets to live the happily-ever-after most heroes don't. And boy does she deserve it.
- Leia Organa (Star Wars) - Got everything her mother didn't. Maybe Bail made the difference?
Some Not-quites - Willow Rosenberg (BTVS) - Adored her greatly, but her breakdown in season six was just too much to handle. And Tara's death... Draco Malfoy (HP) - Could have everything in the palm of his hand, but didn't realize what he'd need to do to get it all, so now he may end up being a casualty of the war his father has helped create. Remus Lupin (HP) - We all know that Remus will never have a happy life, unless JK decides to do the "killing the werewolf who made him breaks the curse" rule... Padme Amidala (Star Wars) - I loved her in the first movie, was rather dissapointed with her in the second, and was thouroughly disgusted in the third. She had so much potential. But apparently being a leader that young means that you don't have to worry about thinking after you step down...

The Host (TNG) - Dr. Crusher falls madly in love with the Trill Ambassador, but when an accident lands him under her care, she learns a lot more about him than she wanted to know. The first apperance of the Trill. My all-time favorite Star Trek Race.
Equilibrium (DS9) - Jadzia discovers something about a previous host that she knew nothing about. My favorite character in this series, and this showcases her and her race quite well. Probably my favorite episode of this series.
Resolutions (Voy) - Janeway and Chakotay all alone on a planet together. He makes her a bathtub and tells her the story of the "Angry Warrior." She starts softening towards him. Then they're rescued. They were obviously meant to be. Too bad TPTB didn't think so...
The Enterprise Incident [I think that's the right ep...] (TOS) - Kirk under cover, Spock dealing with the Romulans, and the Cloaking Device. The Romulans will always hold a place in my heart because of this episode.
Q and the Grey (Voy) - Q returns to Voyager to claim Janeway as his mate. Featuring one of my all-time favorite Star Trek actresses as the female Q. And one of my all-time favorite lines, as well...
"You know, I've always liked Klingon females. You've got such...spunk." (for those who aren't aware, Suzie also played K'Eylar on TNG)

Woke up and got a call from hubby that there had been a murder in the apartment last night. I've only had something similar happen once before, and that was someone killing themselves, so I'm feeling rather ill about the whole thing. I don't know any details, but I'm having trouble dealing, really.
And then, just a few minutes ago,cruisedirector posted a link to this.
I'm still trying to assimilate it. Star Trek is the one I consider my first fandom. Jimmy Doohan was a part of my life as I grew up, just like William Shatner, DeForest Kelly, Leonard Nemoy and the rest. I don't know what else to say, but that it feels like I've lost something important. Sleep well, Jimmy.
And anyone who wants to cheer me up is way more than welcome to do so... I could really use it.

So you're cleaning all the pollen off your TV screen and a genie pops out. In return for freeing her, she offers to grant you 5 changes to any TV show(s) you wish. With only 5 wishes, what do you wish for?
1) For Quantum Leap - Sam jumps home, and lives happily with his lovely wife, and his daughter Sam.
2) That the last episode, possibly last season of Forever Knight never happened.
3) To know Miss Parker's first name
4) That the last three episodes of Season six of Buffy never happened (I hate Kennedy, and that's saying a lot, cause I liked every relationship Willow was ever in, including when she was cheating on Oz.)
5) That Paramount let JMS take over the Star Trek Franchise, and he creates the next series, which will blow even Babylon 5 out of the water. :D
