Can't rain all the time

So, there is a glitch in the current game that allows for same-sex pregnancy despite the fact that the Alien abduction pregnancies for males no longer happen. So, if you're interested in your boys (or girls) having babies together, go here to get the patch. Unfortunately, since it's a glitch in the game, your male sim's body disappears while they're pregnant because there's no male pregnancy clothes built into the system. They're working on that now. You will need an account at Mod the Sims to get the patch, but it's a free account, and well worth the time to get it. :)

So, I originally thought that I wouldn't be able to play Sims 3 on my computer, because it's slow and generally crotchety these days, but it works shockingly well.  I've been having a great time with it, learning the ins and outs of the new system.

So far I've created three families (all slash, of course). Arthur/Merlin, Harry/Draco, and a pairI rp with wolfish_cat, Draco and a MOC.

They've eliminated the alien abduction male pregnancy option that was available in the last version, but apparently random male pregnancies do happen, so it sounds as though someone will be able to make a patch eventually.  I hope.

Also, I went through my favorite sims sites to see which, if any, had started uploading Sims 3 stuff, and I thought I'd offer the (small) list I found for those who are interested.

So far, there are a few hacks (mostly at Mod the Sims, of course), but it sounds like it shouldn't be too long before we get quite a bit more.

All in all?  I'm loving the game. :D

Erm...I think that's so much more than enough that it's not *EVEN* funny.

kabale said she'd be getting the Sims 2 soon, so I thought I'd post a new list of great Sims sites that I enjoy.   One note for K - do make sure the stuff you download is only for the base game, as a lot of downloads are for expansions.

Erm...  Yeah.  And that's not even all of them.  But is the best ones.  If you can't find it at one of them, then...you're downloading too much. (like me. ;D)

cloudlessnights has gotten the latest expansion pack, and has conducted a study on how her HP sims like each other.  It's a fascinating read, though there is slash content--chosen by the sims themselves...  Check it out.

Yes, while I should have been taking this time to finish the next chapter of Finding Harry, I instead played with my Sims.  I created Lily, Narcissa, and Bella, and will be making Tonks and Ginny, as well when I get around to it.  Also spent a great deal of time playing with a new program that allows you to see what a sims file is for. :)  very important when you have as many files as I do.

At the moment, I only have three recs for tomorrow, so I will probably spend a great deal of time working on reading older stuff that I have in my overflow bookmarks.   I hope to have some great recs for you all tomorrow. :)

Yeah, yeah, I should be writing and/or preparing for Christmas.  But this is too important!  Sims objects!  Okay, so they're not new objects, but still, they're new colors for objects that already exist. :D  Go check it out!

It works!  Mod the Sims 2 has made a male pregnancy patch!  You can find it here.

I've tested it out, and it definately works for me, no freezing, the baby (actually babies, cause my guy had twins) appeared, and I was able to name, and everything. :D

I'm redoing my entire slash neighborhood!  Cause I desperately want to make Callia--platinum blonde hair and green eyes! :D

For those interested, here are the sites I have bookmarked for downloading.

Sims Resource - going pay now, which sucks, cause EA says they'll provide webspace.  For free.  There should be no need for end-users to pay for anything... :(
Sim Stuff - biggest site out there aside from Sims Resource, and completely free. Lots of the same stuff on both sites, too, so if you find something on SR that's pay only, check here.
Simaphora - beauty products and hairstyles for the sims.  Lovely stuff here.  Some rather gothy, actually.
Goth Sims Rock Shoppe - The first Goth Sims 2 site, some really nice stuff here, particularly the lipstick and the bustiers. :D
The Well Dressed Sim  - Another pay site, see sims resource above.  Some free stuff, but all the bodies are pay.
More 4 Sims 2 - Lots of stuff here, and looks like it will be a good way to get clothes.
Sunni Sims - another comprehensive site.  Not a whole ton here yet, but some good stuff.
Trendy Sims - this one is italian, but lots of clothes here.
Sketching Blue's Sims 2 Shop - Tons of clothes here for just about every family member. :)

Still no furnishings to download, though.  I'm definately looking forward to that.
