So...I've seen it twice now.  The first time I was so overwhelmed by emotion that I had trouble sorting out my thoughts.  This is my second favorite of the books for several reasons.  Among them the fact that this is basically Draco and Snape's story.   Even as much as it is Harry's and Tom's.  The book itself is flawed, but there are many points in the story that I can't help but love, despite the ridiculous teenage drama. 

The movie is far less so.  Obviously, it can't follow the book exactly.  That would have taken three movies worth.  But there were some distinct disappointments when it came to things left out, or reactions in general.

Overall, worth a viewing, but I wouldn't expect it to be the best of the series if you have yet to see it.

Those were my major reactions, though I'm sure I've forgotten something here or there, but I'd say I've rambled on far long enough.  Overall, not bad.  Just not great like I know it could have been.

I did this coming on three years ago now, but I think it's time it was updated.

Summary: Regulus has a lover, but he’s never seen his face.
Author's notes: I wanted to do this a few months back, but then this stupid Marauder got caught in my head, and insisted I do bestiality instead. So I did. But I still really wanted to do this, so I’m glad I got the chance. I hope everyone likes it. If you like any Regulus pairings, I hope you give it a chance. I actually had a large selection of possibilities to choose from, but I felt this one worked best for what I wanted to accomplish. I might write other iterations of it, someday, though. We’ll see. Huge thank yous to wolfish_cat for egging me on and holding my hand while I wrote as well as rereading the final for me for any last errors, and to ceria, who is still the best beta of all time. :D

Author's notes: Written for nimrod_9 for snapelyholidays this year, who had a lot of interesting ideas. I went with Severus/Regulus, and both “A holiday get-together” and “Happily ever after isn’t always easy.” Huge thank yous to both my betas, ceria and wolfish_cat. The title comes, of course, from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

God, I haven't dont this in so long...

Name five minor characters whose lives and histories you'd like to see explored more (in canon or fanfic).

Course, that depends what you mean by minor, but...  Here goes:

Blaise Zabini.  I know, you're all shocked, right?  But seriously.  Tell us his mother is basically a black widow, and leave it at that?  I don't think so!

Regulus Black.  So underused.  We should have seen more about the brothers' interaction.  And more from Sirius about Reg in general.  And much much more about Reg's fate.

Padma Patil (I'd say her and her sister, but Parvati in the books always annoyed me).  I'd love to know what makes her different from Parvati, and what their home life was like.

Susan Bones.  Never ever got enough screen-time, as it were.  I often wondered if she was sort of a female version of Neville before Book 5...

Kingsley Shacklebolt.  Hot black man?  Shall I count the ways this man is underused in canon?  No?  I know I have at least a few people on my list who agree with me... :D


I'd say all of those are well minor enough.  Wouldn't you? :D

God...still in the (very long and tedious) process of tagging everything, and came across my first-ever ship-list.  And I feel like I have to make an annotated copy... :D

The major missing piece here is Blaise, actually.  Not on there at all.  And if he had been, it likely would have been Seamus/Blaise, instead of Blaise/Draco, or Lucius/Blaise, or somesuch.  Oh, and Regulus!  God...  Not to mention all the Cest I read these days... :D

I know I have a ton of new folks here on my lj, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself, and let you know a bit about what I read/write so that you don't get shocked when something pops up that you might otherwise never have expected of me. :D

I'm going to make my list a touch more complicated than inell's, though, as I'm so all over the place with my pairings, and while I adore Draco, I went the opposite way she did with Hermione, though that seems to be changing a bit nowadays. ;)  I hope you'll bear with me in any case.

A/N: I am supposing here that Lucius is five years older than Sirius, and Sirius is just over one year older than Regulus, which makes Regulus 15, and Lucius 21 in this first scene, just for people’s information. And yes, this does mean Chan. It’s a Lucius fic. Does that really surprise you? ;P Lucius’s father in this is named Magnus because that was what I named him in the other story. I have no excuse other than that, but as I want this to be the prequel to that, I feel the need to explain that to those who haven’t read WDID. Not a huge deal, but there it is.
Dedication: To Inell. Here’s your Christmas fic, hon. Sorry it took me so long. The boys just weren’t cooperating. I hope you like. And don’t feel you need to read the other fic.
