Can't rain all the time

Have just finished updating my fic-list for the month and year, so I thought I should do the usual year-end roundup.

I only managed one fic this month, as I have been focusing more on RP than anything else online, but because of the holidays, not even enough of that.  Hopefully now that they're over, I can get back into the swing of things.

A note to those who have me friended that I have not friended back - I will not friend if you are underage or have no age-statement, and I don't check things as often as I used to because of other obligations.  If you are of age, please leave me a post here (or elsewhere) stating that you are, and I will friend you back.  I f-lock anything NC-17 related in this journal, though if you don't wish to friend me for whatever reason, I also post all my fics elsewhere. 
My daily_deviant fics (the ones I always post on the 13th of each month) are all avaliable at that community, tagged with my name, so they are easy to access.
I also post all my 50_smutlet pieces at that community each time I post.
Beyond that, I tend to post to a community for the character(s) most involved in the story, the ship involved in the story, and if appropriate, hpslash.

Thing numba one:
Just a notice to let everyone know, because I'll probably be going nuts this week, and forget to tell anyone before I actually leave.  I will be going down to California Thursday, and coming back on Monday.  I will have limited access down there, but I probably won't be doing more than scanning my flist until I get back.  If you post something you'd like me to see, feel free to nudge me.  I'm not sure how much I'll be able to access after I get back, given how my flist is usually at skip=100+ every night when I get home from work...

Thing numba two:
I now have two 50_smutlets Blaise-fics in progress, both nearing completion, so I'm hoping I'll manage to post one before I go, and one after I get back.  The one I'm most likely to post before I'm gone is the first bit in a series, and the other is a solo piece that I'll be unlikely to follow up on.  So now I'm trying to decide if I should go back to the Miles/Blaise story for the next, or do the next part of the other series...  Anyone have any reqests/prompts for me?  My brain's been kind of sluggish lately.

Thing numba three:
Have gone back and updated my info at NaNoWriMo.  No clue if I'll even get to the writing bit, but I'm going to try.  The fic's an original piece this year, so I'm already wibbling because I won't have my trusty friends to drag me through.  Would anyone be interested in reading a story about a school of superheroes set in the near future while I wrote?  I'm thinking of setting up something so that I can get feedback as I go, cause it was the only thing that got me through last time.  I've got some characters mapped out, and a vague story idea.  No ending, though I'll probably just play out the plot ideas I have and see where they lead.  Also, who's going to play in that sandbox with me?  Cause I want to friend you over there if you are.

Thing numba four:
daily_deviant fic for October is finished.  Now I just need to email it to myself so I can post it while I'm down in Cali...  I haven't given any thought to my November one, though I should do it now so I'll only have to post it come November 13th...  And the December one's making me quite twitchy, so I should really start that as well.

Thing numba five:
Birthdays.  I suck at them.  When I started this journal, I used to do birthday posts for all my favorite authors when I knew their birthdays, with a rec-list and everything.  And in the past year I've done stories and/or drabbles for people, but I've slacked.  I really want to do something, I'm just not sure any more.  I do have two birthdays coming up this month (Kit, I need to talk to you, hon... :D), and one I'm sure of next month, but beyond that, I need to get back on the ball.  So, question.  What do you all do/expect/like for birthdays?  I'd like to do something, at least.  I was thinking of drabbles, unless I already have something more specific in mind...

So, I tend to do okay when I post stories that feature my OTP, but I'm such a multi-shipper outside of that that when I write something else, I tend to have problems with finding people either to beta the stories or who are interested enough to read it.  Sometimes even finding a spot to post can be difficult.

Specifically, I adore Blaise, but I know that others don't particularly feel the same, and I'm wondering if some of the pieces I'm writing for 50_smutlets will even be read by anyone.  It's a disenhartening thought, and one that, at times, makes it difficult to write my smutlets at all.  I mean, I know there's call for Blaise/Hermione or Blaise/Draco, and that people are usually interested in most Harry, Snape or Lucius pairings.  Or Weasley or Marauder pairings, even.  But beyond that?  I just have to ask.  Is there anyone who will be interested in a Miles/Blaise?  What about Regulus/Blaise?  Oliver/Blaise?  Hell, Kingsley/Blaise, even...

I just feel the need, sometimes, to create a support-group for us Blaise fans.  But we're such a diverse group, would that really even help?  Some of us are Het only, or prefer Het, while others of us are the reverse.  Some are pairing specific, while others will read any story if he's in it at all.  Some of us only prefer female or white Blaise, while others get upset if he's anything other than canon.  Not something that's easy to reconcile.

Other times, I think that what we need is a newsletter like lucius_recs or hd_prophet.  But with so much going on for me at the moment, I know I'd never be on the ball enough to keep it up for very long.  I honestly wish I was one of those uber-organized people who had time to do even half of what I thought about.  I don't know that I'm asking for help here, but I do think ideas as to what to do, perhaps volunteers as far as putting together a newsletter for Blaise, would not be turned down.  Or am I the only one interested in an idea of this sort?
