So, in the midst of leaving my job this week, I suddenly realized that today is my 5 year LJ anniversary.  So I have two things to celebrate.  I will be posting a few different things, including an Anything Goes post.  It's been too long since I've done that. :D

So, four years ago today I finally got myself an LJ.  I'd already been watching several communities by that time (pornish_pixies and pervy_werewolf most notably), and so my flist quickly filled up with tons and tons of delicious fic.  The friends appeared much slower.  Some barely acquaintences, some became more.  I've never regretted having a journal.  I've met some great people here.

This past year has been a difficult one.  Wank and anger and loss...  I still haven't finished tagging everything from the move from LJ to IJ, and sometimes I wonder why I bother looking at LJ any longer because it makes me so angry.  I have had the pleasure, though, to participate in some good things over there, even though I no longer actively use that journal.  The HD Cup.  HP Vamp.  I miss people over there, but most of the people I really talk to are over here, anyway.

I've stepped into a few new fandoms in the past year or so.  No fic, but a bit of reading, at the very least.  Queer as Folk, Youka Nitta, and even a bit of Tin Man.  And then there are the old, re-emerging fandoms.  Buffy and Star Trek. So busy.  And so much love. :)

I'm not going to name names here, because you all know who you are, but that meme about "people you met through your journal who make your life better" has been going around, and I just wnat to say that I'm thrilled to have met so many of you.

I've officially had my journal two years as of tomorrow, sometime about midday, I think. :)  Changes?  A lot more fic.  A ton more friends, way too many new ships to count (headdesk), and now with RPG, too! :D 

I don't have a story ready to post like I did last year, but I would like to offer drabbles because it has been so very long since I have done so.  Please keep it HP, as my brain's been cooked by the weather lately, and thinking outside HP would probably make it explode... ;)  There are a few pairings I won't do, but I'm pretty loose.  Just please no Snape/Gryffindor pairings?  Or Ronslash.  Not really my thing.  Maybe you could give me a couple pairings and a prompt to choose from? That way we're more likely to mesh.

So, I got almost nothing done today, though I did friend a bunch of people at mctabby's, and managed to write about 500 words in the next bit of my Lucius/Harry fics.

So, I am now well over 100 Friends.  Yeah, this scares me.  So what do I do when I'm scared?  Apparently something even scarier.  I've only done something like this once before, And I know I'll get a heck of a lot more responses this time, so be kind....

I cannot recall when I first started keeping a rec-list, so I have decided to comemmerate my anniversary of when I first began to rec in this journal.  Which is the 24th of October.  So, this coming week, in honor of my anniversary, I will be taking requests for fics to rec.  Pairing, character, kink, whatever.

1. First come, first served.  I will be recing a selection each day, depending on how many people request recs.
2. I would like to limit each person to three to five recs (unless I utterly lose my mind, or only a couple of people request recs)
3. Please provide a few choices for me, just in case.  There are some ships that I rec only rarely, or not at all.

It went by way too fast.  My lj anniversary is today.  I can't believe I've actually been on lj that long. :)  It's been a great year.  I've met so many lovely people.  And I'm sure next year will be even better, now that we've got all this great new canon. :D
