To welcome my new Merlin friends, I'm going to follow in kabal42's footsteps and do a little intro post about myself and my journal.

My main fandom (at the moment) is Harry Potter, and I know most (if not all) the folks I friended are in the fandom as well, so I thought I'd go into a bit of detail about who I am and what I do there before I move into the other bits about me and my journal.

I read, write, and rec, primarily, though I also RP here and there. Mostly in PSLs, though.

My ships in a bit more detail: I slash overall, though I do have a few het ships I enjoy. My OTPs are: Harry/Draco, Severus/Draco, and Severus/Sirius, and for het, Severus/Lily. Most of my favorite ships tend to be Slytherin-centric. I particularly focus on ships with Draco, Severus, or Remus, though I also have a distinct fondness for Lucius, Regulus, and Blaise.

I don't write as much fic as I used to, and mostly just one piece a month for daily_deviant, though occasionally I do get inspired.

I also participate once yearly in NaNoWriMo, and have only missed one year so far. I will likely be doing an original piece this year, so it won't be posted here in my journal, but I might be gathering a small group together who are interested in reading it. It's a modern-day Arthurian story with a Morgana who has become "Morgan" in this life. Yes, there will be slash elements.

Merlin, however, is really calling to me. I even already have an idea for a (hopefully very smutty) Arthur/Merlin fic. And I do love Morgana, and all of the ideas they've introduced so far. I can't wait to see more.

As for who I am myself?

I live in Seattle, have all my life. Am currently married to my high school sweetheart. We've been married for 16+ years. We have two cats, Morgan and Sebastian. No kids. I'm not a kid person, really. Though I do occasionally babble about my niece.

I got my BA in English Lit, and occasionally contemplate going back to get an MA, except that the cost is daunting. That and the fact that I'm still not entirely sure what I'd do for an MA...

Overall? I watch too much TV, own too many movies, don't read enough any longer, and am highly addicted to my computer.

So that's me in a nutshell. I'm sure there are tons of things I've missed, but it gives you a good overview. :)

I know I have a ton of new folks here on my lj, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself, and let you know a bit about what I read/write so that you don't get shocked when something pops up that you might otherwise never have expected of me. :D

I'm going to make my list a touch more complicated than inell's, though, as I'm so all over the place with my pairings, and while I adore Draco, I went the opposite way she did with Hermione, though that seems to be changing a bit nowadays. ;)  I hope you'll bear with me in any case.

Yikes.  I think I've blathered on enough.  I wonder if it's too big to post now... :)  But I'm sure you all get the point, anyway.

What fandoms do we have in common?

My main fandom is Harry Potter, of course.  Books, movies, fandom...  I love it all (though GOF the movie less so...)  Just too much there I adore.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a bit less so, Angel.  Joss whedon is my god.  I adore him, his one-liners, his characters, and the way he makes his worlds so real.

Sims - and yes, it is a fandom.  I could spend hours or even days creating houses, characters...  I love them.  I love playing them.

Star Trek.  Not active currently, but the only other fandom I really published stories in.  I can't imagine a world where there wasn't Star Trek in my life.  Even with the mistakes TPTB made, there's still so much good there.

Elfquest.  The only other fandom I got involved in on a personal level, though I wasn't in any holts.  I have always loved elves, so really, this was right up my alley.

Firefly.  See Buffy/Angel above.  And may I add, he makes the best female characters ever.

Star Wars.  Really the first trilogy, cause the prequels were bad.  Lucas had a great group of actors, the story had heart, and the entire thing advanced movie effects tenfold.

Stargate.  Love the idea, love the characters, love the stories.  Just a great team all around.  And anything that includes this much myth is right up my alley.

Forever Knight.  Best-ever vampire show on TV before Buffy.  It sucks that it only made it through three seasons.

Fruits Basket.  People who turn into animals?  And boys who can't touch girls?  How can I not love it?

Other minor fandoms: LOTR, B5 (Ivanova, Talia and Marcus...  God, yes.), XMen, V (the mini series), Batman. So, I know I have a few new friends from mctabby's Friending Frenzy (if you haven't gone yet, why not?), and thought I'd properly introduce myself.  You know how it is, you do the message, and then think of fifty things you forgot to say... ;)

I am:
* A HUGE Draco fan, and unashamed of it.
* A Harry/Draco shipper
* A multi-shipper.  SS/SB, SS/RL, anything with the Marauders pretty much, most Remus-ships, SS/DM, RL/HP, Lucius and any Marauder, or Snape, or Harry, Blaise with Snape or Harry or Draco or Seamus, or possibly Hermione or Ginny, slowly getting into Regulus slash, particularly stuff that has to do with his love/hate relationship wtih Sirius, and/or where he has a crush on Remus, Het - well, nothing big - my big Het ship is Draco/Hermione, but I do like any Weasley/Hermione, oh, and any Weasley/Harry, or /Remus, or /Severus, particularly if that Weasley is Bill, Charlie, or the Twins.  No, that's not a complete list, but I think you can get the idea from that... ;)
* Into Slash more than Het, but don't ignore Het or Gen when it's pointed out to me.
* A reccer.  If you have a fic you want me to read, just lead the way.  I don't have any hard and fast rules about what I rec.  If I like it when I read it, I'll rec it. :)
* A writer - I am currently working on a Harry/Draco/Snape fic for a friend for her (very belated) birthday present, Lucius/Harry war-fic for fanfic100, and I will be writing a Harry/Draco postwar fic with a side of Lucius/Remus and maybe a few other ships for NaNoMo (I have other stuff, but as of this moment, until after November, and possibly after I've finished the Lucius/Harry stuff, everything else I have is on hold).

My journal is home to my fic, which gets posted here first, then elsewhere.  I also do weekly recs on Sunday, which are eventually transferred to my recs journal, elfflame_recs.  I also, very ocassionally, do rather simple icons.  Nothing thrilling, as I can't do animated, but I like them, and like to share.

I am a chatter.  If you leave a message, I will respond.  It might take me a while, but I will.  I love long, rambling conversations, and have made some of my favorite lj frienships that way. :D

I do have a tendancy to be one of those that doesn't respond to every post, but that doesn't mean that I didn't read it, just that I had no idea what to say, or that I was in too much of a rush to leave a note.  I do try to go back and respond when I have time, but I do tend to miss things that way, so please don't think I'm slighting you if I haven't responded to a post.
