Lore ♥ is busy being on vacation, so I'll post the discussion this week.
Haru and all Nitta-sensei's works are filled with an immense amount of well-characterised and interesting characters. Although it seems as if Iwaki and Katou are the most popular - and the most popular pairing - most of us have our favourite side characters. Some of us even prefer the (main) characters from YN's other works for that matter.
So...
- Which minor characters do you prefer, and why?
- Does the never-fading spotlight on Harudaki and on Iwaki and Katou make us forget that there are literally hundreds of other characters who need their stories told, characters who deserve some fannish love as well?

ARGH NO AND WRONG
I got up in the night to use the bathroom and noticed a bug crawling on the pack of toilet paper sitting in the corner. I reached out to squash it and realised it was inside the plastic packaging. Then I realised there were two.
THEN I REALISED THERE WERE DOZENS.
A single roach escaped the Epic Roachicide in my flat when I moved in, and got into the toilet paper (which I opened LAST WEEK) and had babies and now all the toilet paper is covered in tiny baby roaches.
ACTUALLY
Now all the toilet paper is covered in roaches and high-octane poison spray. BECAUSE ARGH.
*sprays it again for good measure, puts it outside on the porch*
WHY DO I NOT HAVE AN ARGH ROACHES ICON?

More writer blather about the erotic suspense romance I am writing:
Chapter one of MIND GAMES is done. Hooray! It clocked in at 4500 words, very close to my target.
My brain keeps wanting to take it in some very kinky directions, but my main character is very emotionally isolated and inexperienced with love and sex, so where it goes from here has to be believable. And just because I love BDSM doesn't mean it gets to creep into every book or story. Does it?
What I think is going to happen is some of the trappings of BDSM will show up later, but on the periphery. Meanwhile what will develop in her own relationships will turn out to be pretty kinky, but not in any conventional way or in any way recognizable as standard BDSM.
I think one of my major kinks is when lovers/characters make their own rules for how their relationship(s) work, when they don't fall into a conventional mold but make things work anyway because of their individual compatible needs/desires/hangups. That's something I feel I rarely see in books or movies. When i do see it, I love it so much! I'm thinking, for example, of an old short-lived comic book called LASER ERASER AND PRESSBUTTON, about two assassins who are made for each other. (Her experiences have taught her men are pigs who just want to fuck her, whereas his body got eaten away from the waist down, so he's just got a big red shiny button on his chest that she can press to make him come. Oh, and one of his arms is replaced by a big machete-like blade, which she likes to polish.)
In films the unique arrangement usually falls apart by the end of the movie, but there are two James Spader movies which fit the theme nicely, "sex, lies, and videotape," and from much more recently, "Secretary." I suppose you could count House of Flying Daggers in there, too, maybe?
I'm liking this attempt to just write a thousand words a day and not much more. It feels good and my RSI is flaring up right now so I don't want to pull a marathon session at the computer anyway.
Speaking of which, I should stop typing now and ice it. Time to watch some anime and NOT TYPE for a while.

So I had work today, and wrote and read and uploaded some posts and generally did my thing. We're still feeling Coworker J's departure keenly, but I'm told he, or someone to replace him, will be back within the month. Good, because I need a desk sub on the 22nd (it's Company Bondage Bonding Day again) and, well, everyone kinda needs to go to it.
I'm slowly whittling down the lists of Posts I Really Want To Recover -- I found my account of Pops Goes The Fourth in Boston, which for some inexplicable reason was posted on the seventh. I'd forgotten my horrific sunburn. Totally worth it, though.
It's kind of funny, now when I go to post I automatically want to hit the "backdate entry" button, and then adjust the datestamp.
I actually am culling quite a few entries, just because they're unimportant or they're fic posts and the fic is already archived. And sometimes they're just random quotes, which I can stash just as easily elsewhere.

Need some help from those more familiar with Japanese and/or Nitta-sensei fandom in this group: I'd thought that "Harudaki" was a common nickname for "Haru wo Daiteita," but having just been called ignorant for using "Harudaki" in a summary, I figured it might be time to double-check. Have I been misusing the term?
Also, as long as I'm asking, any opinions on "Haru wo Daiteita" vs. "Haru wo Daite Ita"?
Sorry I haven't been as active lately - September kicked my arse ten ways from Saturday and I'm still recovering. Got lots bookmarked... *hugs you all*

OMG! I've been waiting to see this masterpiece for months and now that its here, it's beyond even what I had imagined for this prompt
Here's the summary: Substitute DADA Professor Harry Potter finds himself facing off against Potions Professor Draco Malfoy once more. This time the stakes are higher than ever - it's the staff Strip Poker night at Hogwarts! After a couple of rounds of cards and a couple of rounds of Firewhiskey, everyone but Trelawney and Malfoy have had to take something off. Then Harry starts to lose every hand. In no time at all, he's down to his black silk pants and wizards hat. And just when it seems Malfoy's smirk couldn't possibly get smirkier and Harry might have to bare all (in front of McGonagall omg), Harry's luck miraculously turns, and the losing streak turns on Malfoy. Or maybe there's nothing of chance at all in that losing streak ...
Warnings: Cross-dressing, a bit of nudity
But, seriously, folks if that doesn't entice you to click the link then let's just say Draco is a true Slytherin and McGonagall is so IC it's scary. And there's special appearances by some old friends.

I had to have surgrey on my back. I could not take the pain no more. They took a needle and burned the nerves dead just in the area that caused the most pain. I was awake for the whole thing. Don't worry it sounds worse then it was I hardly felt anything. I feel like new person. I still have to see a chiropractor to put spine back in to place. I am just glad to have a life back worth living.
P.S any Lucius slash with Harry or Draco I should know about?

I didn't see everything I needed to know about intamite underclothes for Narcissa. I'm thinking a cream coloured bustier(if that's what it's called) (this is for a wedding but hot sex before the wedding) and what holds up stockings, a belt or garters. Also in an unrealted question would she wear pumps or stelletos Many THANKS!
