And the Questions:
Favorite of the year: So hard to say, but if I had to choose, it would likely be the Sultan's Slave, just because it followed me from about February on, and it's just so nice to have it out and written. Runners-up would be Serendipity, Guarding Malfoy, and the Last of All Illusions, with Illusions being the truly stand-out fic of the three. My favorite Drabble of the year (first year I've managed more than one actual 100-word drabble) would have to be the Burning Fire, which isn't HP, but captures that moment in time perfectly.

Best of the year:
Probably the Last of All Illusions. Fest appeared unexpectedly, was low-pressure, and yet somehow I ended up with this megafic (14k +) with a gorgeous plot that was almost nothing like anything I'd written before.

Most underapreciated:
I'm not going to say much about it, but Serendipity. Plenty on my flist already know my issues about this fic, and if you don't, you're likely better off not knowing. I do wish I could have enjoyed this experience more, though. I really would have liked it to become a part of my yearly activities...

Most fun to write:
The Sultan's Slave, far and away. This was what writing used to feel like. Like there was no pressure, no one judging me. Just doing it because I loved the idea. I hate that some have taken that from me.

Sexiest fic:
Erm...not an easy one to answer. So I'll go with Two Pets, which is a crossover with one of Yukko Nitta's stories, Casino Lily. Very nice. D/s and voyeurism. Two of my favorites. :D

"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": Where do I start?
Entreat Me Not to Leave You is about brotherly incest where one brother ties the other to a wall, then cuts and fucks him...
In Hearts Left Behind has a grandfather leaving memories of fucking his son (the boy's father) for him so that he will go to him after the grandfather has passed on.
Brotherly Love about a brother punishing another brother for being gay.
And Tied With a Ribbon about a Death Eater keeping a pet hidden from the world even after the war.

Fic that shifted my own preconceptions of the characters:
The Last of All Illusions. Top Draco, and I tried to do a creature I'd never done before. Believe me, that in itself was a search--just to find something that fit what I would need, while not being something creepy.

Hardest to write:
Safe in His Arms. Tough subject. I'd visited the idea a few times before, but with canon complete, I wanted to do it real justice, and Harry kept fighting me every step of the way.

Biggest disappointment:

Biggest surprise:
The Last of All Illusions. See comments in preconceptions above. And also, how long it ended up being. And how pleased I was with it. I love this fic.

Most telling:
Rab finally made his appearence this year in many fics: Entreat Me Not to Leave You, 20 Things You Should Know About Rabastan Lestrange, Plans for the Future, Music of Life, and Brotherly Love. What does it tell? Well, that the brat has taken over my brain, and apparently has no plans on giving it back any time soon. And that he never really changes his tune or his focus. :P Ro will always be the centre of his universe.

GAH. This is what I should be doing. I lost count of how many words I wrote this year months ago. Instead I'm enjoying my last few days of freedom and writing fanfic.

Writing is never a waste of time, so I'd say that sounds like time well-spent. :)
